Team Building Writing Prompt
Over this unit of guidance, we have learned about group skills and how they are important. To do this, we did certain group activities to help us learn about these group skills. These activities were involving some of the Be a STAR elements (Trust, Belonging, Accept Responsibility) but they also included Patience, Communicating, and stuff like that. In these activities we had to do stuff like building stuff as a team, drawing stuff, solving puzzles, etc. These activities made group work much easier for all of us. Here is what I learned:
In these activities I have learned a lot but I can only fit three of these things into my paragraph so I’m just going to make it short. One that I learned a lot from was straw tower. I’ve learned to be patient and trusting when others try to do their own. In the exercise “One Handed”, I’ve learned that communicating is very important while working with a group.The last example I will be using in this paragraph is the Traffic Jam. The major learning I got from that activity is CONCENTRATION. The main reason I got that written down is because for that, somehow, all of my friends got into that group and it was really hard to concentrate. Anyways, these learning will help me in future group activities.
I have learned a lot about my self that I didn’t know before. The big thing that I’ve learned about my self is that I actually DO work well with groups and I have really underestimated my self. I have either learned a lot about group work and these activities have helped me. OR I have found a part of me that I have never seen before. Either way, I’m better at group work and I have learned a lot from these activities.
